Claire Hulse thought she was just going for a romantic walk with her boyfriend when 50 zombies converged on her as part of his marriage proposal. 
 

The 34-year-old and partner Brian Tollady were chased along the banks of the River Mersey in Liverpool in scenes reminiscent of Hollywood blockbuster Dawn of the Dead.

 But the drama was a ploy by the creative boyfriend who soon dropped to one knee to pop the question when the pack of the blood-thirsty undead moved in for the kill. 

Horror fan Claire was so pleased with Brian’s proposal efforts that she said she would “eat his brains out”. Brian, 33, an oil refinery technician, said: “I’m very relieved it all went okay.

 Claire was not happy because it was out of her comfort zone but she said yes. “It’s the biggest day of my life so far. We don’t know when the wedding will be - it’s whenever Claire wants it to be though. I’m just glad it’s happening."

 The couple have been together eight years since they met in a nightclub and their first date was to see vampire film Underworld, starring Kate Beckinsale. Claire said: “I was a bit freaked out and confused – 

I really did wonder what was going on. “I’m very impressed with it all because I love zombies. My birthday is in October and I’ve always loved Halloween. 

“My favourite films are Dawn of the Dead , Brian got Claire a unique black diamond ring with white gold, surrounded by four skulls
