GHETTO TO BECAME A TOURIST ATTRACTION HUB

Dandora Ghetto is famous for its very large dump-site that is believed to be one of the most toxic places in Africa if not in the entire world.

Recently  youth living in this area have formed a group under the Yes Youth Can Initiative with the aim of cleaning up this place and making it a tourist attraction site just like the 14 falls in Thika.

The toxins find their way into the the river passing through this ghetto and though it forms a very beautiful waterfall, very little can be gained from it because of the high toxicity and inaccessible location.

USAID have teamed up with these youth to give them the support they need to restore the beauty of this place.

They said most of them have reformed and for the few that are still in crime, they are doing their best to ensure they mentor them to change their ways by engaging them in community work.
