It is usually a serious affair, where the dead are buried in a straight coffin or cremated. However a theatrical ritual in Luhya-land has left many mouths agape and has become fodder for internet trolls.
The interesting ritual was part of the traditions of the Angusu clan of the Idakho Luhya sub tribe where elders are buried sitting down as a sign of respect and for the dead to watch over his family.
This ritual dates back to centuries ago where elders are buried in this way.
