The relationship, however, is suspected not to have sprung from true love, as it is rumored that some very ambitious women, both in Nairobi and in the village, are sleeping with witchdoctors who give them power to net rich and prominent husbands in return.

MP Shabbir claims that he and his first wife, who is Asian of course, have been receiving death threats from members of their own Asian community for disgracing them, as it is against their tradition to marry outside their race.
