RAILA ODINGA FORGIVES HIS ATTACKER

CORD leader Raila Odinga and Kwale County governor Salim Mvurya have forgiven the man who attacked them with a stick on Monday at a CORD Rally.
 
The Raila and Mvurya say they will not pursue the assault case that Lengo Mzombe is already facing in court.

In a statement sent to newsrooms by Odinga’s Spokesperson Dennis Onyango Raila said governor Mvurya will instead seek a meeting with Mzombe to understand his problems.

“Mr Mvurya will also try to understand what was the provocation or the issue that the man wanted to protest against,” he said in the statement.
Mr. Mzombe on Monday hit Odinga and Mvurya with a stick during an Okoa Kenya Rally in Kwale County.

He pleaded guilty yesterday to the assault charges and asked for forgiveness from those he hurt.
