Egerton University student arrested for attempted kidnap of a 9 year old school girl

A student at Egerton University is being held at Moi's Bridge Police Station in Uasin Gishu County over the kidnap of a 9-year old schoolgirl. 

Victor Musango Mwania an engineering student, and his accomplice Richard Gitamari seized the young girl as she waited for the school bus early morning. 
However, police trailed the Probox they were in and eventually caught up with them at Ziwa Trading Center. 

One of the suspects managed to escape. Angry residents threatened to kill Musango but police took him to the station where he confessed that they had planned to demand 5 million shillings as ransom, but said it was the first time they had made such an attempt. 

The family was relieved to have their little girl back as she ran to her father for an embrace
