Equity Bank Giving Out Free Equitel SIM Cards

If you have an Equity Bank account, you can now get an Equitel SIM card free of charge. Equity Bank is issuing ordinary SIM card free of charge.

Equity Bank is issuing ordinary SIM cards to its 8.7 million customers but none of the thin SIM technology since another lawsuit has been filed against it.

Those who don’t have an Equity Bank account will need to open an account with the bank to get the Equitel SIM card. For those whose accounts are dormant, an activation fee of sh200 is to be paid.

Equitel will be using the prefix 0763. The account holders will be able to get access to their bank accounts through mobile handsets and also transfer money to other bank accounts, M-Pesa, Airtel and Orange Money.

 Toping up of airtime will be done through Equity Bank accounts or the Equity agents. This will reduce any costs associated with printing and distribution of scratch cards.
