PAY 2 MILLION TO BE TAUGHT HOW TO USE FACEBOOK

Members of the County Assembly have been trained to enable them communicate with their constituents via social media platforms. 

Speaker David Mwangi said the training by the Strategic Planners of Kenya (SPK) cost Sh2 million.

 It was held at the Kenyatta University Conference Centre. Mr Mwangi said the training was to ensure that MCAs could adequately use their Ipads, phones and laptops to communicate and engage with residents.

 “We want to immediately establish a website, a Facebook page and a Twitter handle for the assembly. These will serve as links between the people of Nyeri and their elected leaders,” Mwangi said. He said the five-day training covered various topics including Microsoft Office, effective use of social media, Financial Management Systems, e-government and effective I-pad use.
