SEX WORKERS DEMONSTRATE IN NAIROBI CBD

Commercial sex workers today marched in the streets of Nairobi in what they termed as a necessary move in highlighting their plight.

The sex workers complained about constant harassment by council Askaris, police and violation of their rights while at work.

They called on the government to legalize their trade to ensure their human rights are not violated as is the case now.

Last month a human rights group petitioned the city council of Nairobi to look into the plight of sex workers in the streets leading to the formation of a special committee to look into that matter.

The committee is yet to table its report.
